Englantilainen John Nash (1893-1977) tunnetaan paremmin maisemien ja luontoaiheiden maalarina ja Paul Nashin (Englannin modernismin uranuurtaja) veljenä. Mutta John Nash oli myös taitava puupiirtäjä ja graafikko. Tässä puukaiverruksessa "Tibby and Patch" näkyvät kaiverruksen jäljet upeasti. English John Nash (1893-1977) is known for his landscape and nature inspired paintings, and as the brother of Paul Nash, key figure in the development of English Modernism. But John Nash was also a skilled wood engraver and graphic artist. In this wood engraving "Tibby and Patch" the markings of the carving are gloriously visible. Two cats, black and white, are lying on a shelf and the perspective is wildly wonky.
