Tämä linopiirros (30 x 40 cm) on ollut varmasti hitain kaiverrettava. Pispala-talo on aika iso, mutta siinä on kolme ovea ja liuta ikkunoita. Kummallakin puolella kuvaa on puun oksia. Ja tuo piha! Se on täynnä yksityiskohtia: työvälineitä, tuoleja, pöytiä, koira, kissa, kana ja kukko. Luin juuri jutun, jossa kerrottiin että Pispalaan on joku hankkinut pari kanaa pihalleen. Mikä ettei! Tavoittelin tässä linopiirroksessa pitsimäisen pihan kuvioinnin lisäksi tummien ja vaaleiden kohtien vuorottelua, ja aion kokeilla linon vedostusta myös värillisenä, ehkä vihreänä.

This linocut (30 x 40 cm) has surely been the slowest one to carve. The Pispala house is quite large, but it has three doors and a bunch of windows. There are branches of trees on the both side of the picture. And that yard! It is full of details: tools, chairs, tables, a dog, cat, hen and rooster. I just read an article, where they told that someone had acquired a couple of chicken on her yard. Why not! I was aiming for the alternation of dark and light areas in addition to the lace-like pattern of the yard. I might try printing this lino also coloured, perhaps green.
