Miten viekkaan näköinen mustavalkoinen leveäposkinen kissa! Taustalla näkyy egyptiläinen sfinksi. Kissan häntä ja pilvet muodostavat vauhdikkaat kurvit. Tämän amerikkalaisen Oliver Herfordin (1863-1935) kissakuvan tekniikaksi mainitaan line-block, kohopainolevy.

Olen vuosien aikana kerännyt aikamoisen määrän kissakortteja. Museoiden kaupat ovat oikeita aarreaittoja kissakorttien kerääjälle. Useat korteistani ovat taidekortteja.

How sly looking black and white wide-jowled cat! In the background there is an Egyptian Sphinx. The tail of the cat and clouds form very jazzy curves. The technique of this card by American Oliver Herford (1863-1935) is line-block, a letterpress printing block made by a photoengraving process without the use of a screen.

I have collected quite a large number of cat cards over decades. Museum shops are treasure-troves for a cat card collector. Several of my cat cads are art cards.
