Tamperelaisen Hannu Ojalan (s. 1939) puupiirrokset Galleria Leonardossa saavat hymyilemään leveästi. Aiheet ovat välillä humoristisia: outoja eläimiä (Tehohyönteinen?) tai kummallisia koneita (Nyhtäjä?). Osa puupiirroksista on perinteisempää: maisemia tai rakennuksia. Mutta tekniikka on mestarillinen, värit ovat taitettuja ja usean värin vedostaminen puupiirrokseen on ihan henkeä salpaavan kaunista. Hymy nousee siis katsojan kasvoille sekä puupiirrosten teknisen tason että mieltä hykerryttävien aiheiden ja niiden tulkinnan takia. Hannu Ojala´s (b. 1939) woodcuts in Gallery Leonardo make me smile broadly. At times the subjects are humorous: strange animals (Power Insect?) or odd machines (Cropper?). Some of the woodcuts are more traditional: landscapes or buildings. But the technique is masterly, colours are broken and the pulling of many colours on one woodcut is quite breathtakingly beautiful. The smile is rising to your face because of the technical level of the works and also because of the thrilling subjects and their interpretation.
